Pet Therapy is Beneficial to Elderly

Pet therapy is very beneficial to the elderly because it can improve their physical, mental and social well-being. This is the reason why some long term care facilities incorporate this to a care plan, particularly to seniors who are living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and the likes. Interaction with a pet is very soothing and thus can help a person feel good. For example, seeing your dog greet you can take away the stress and tiredness of a day full of activities and stroking the mustache of your cat can help you relax.
